Privacy

Short version: I don't want your data. This site is run by one person on his own servers, the tools don't need accounts, and there is no advertising or analytics profile being built about you. What follows is the longer, honest version.

Who runs this site

worksfine.tools is operated by a private individual based in Latvia. The same content is also reachable at worksfine.digital and worksfine.wiki. For any question about this page, or to ask what data exists about you, write to [email protected].

Server logs

Like almost every web server, mine records each request it answers. A log line contains:

• your IP address
• the date and time of the request
• the address of the page or file requested, and the response status
• the page you came from, if your browser sent one
• your browser's user-agent string (browser and operating system)

These logs exist so I can keep the site running, see roughly how many people use each tool, and investigate errors and abuse. The legal basis is legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. They are kept for 14 days and then deleted automatically. I don't try to identify anyone from them, and I don't share them with anybody.

Cookies

This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser for tracking purposes. Individual tools may keep something locally in your browser to remember a setting between visits — that data stays on your device and is never sent to me. That's also why you don't get a consent banner here.

Files you open in the tools

When a tool works on a file you provide, such as a GPX track, that file is processed in your own browser and is not uploaded to or stored on my server.

Cloudflare

The site sits behind Cloudflare, which handles DNS, HTTPS and protection against attacks. Every request therefore passes through Cloudflare's network before it reaches my server, and Cloudflare processes connection data such as your IP address for security purposes. Mail sent to addresses at this domain is forwarded by Cloudflare Email Routing to my personal mailbox, so your message and address pass through their service on the way.

Fonts

The page loads two typefaces from Google Fonts. Your browser requests them from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address as part of that request. No cookies are set by it.

External links

Where this site links elsewhere — Buy Me a Coffee, for example — those services have their own privacy policies, and this one stops at my domain.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask what personal data is held about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, and object to its processing. In practice there is very little here to ask about: short-lived server logs, and any email you have sent me. Write to [email protected] and I'll answer. You also have the right to complain to the Latvian Data State Inspectorate (Datu valsts inspekcija).

Changes

If this site gains something that changes the picture — analytics, advertising, or a tool that has to process data on the server — I'll update this page and change the date at the top.
